Dog Boarding

Dog boarding is when your dog comes to Mountain Pets, is integrated into our home, hikes, plays and stays overnight. We book no more than 2-3 boarding clients at a time.  Kennel-free, premium homestyle lodging and personalized care. A complimentary meet and greet and a paid trial overnight assessment is required for all new clients. We do not offer doggie day care. Bird Boarding

Bird boarding is provided in our office on the main floor in our home. Provide your birds food and toys. Bring your cage or rent one of ours. We have a variety of quality and size appropriate cages for rent if yours is too cumbersome for travel. Simply bring as many of your birds toys and we'll retrofit into our cage. Daily care Includes out of cage time once daily as appropriate. Veterinary health certificate required for new clients.

Small Animal Boarding
Small animal boarding is provided in a private room in our home. Provide your pets bedding, food, toys, chews, and treats. Bring your own cage or rent our spacious Oiibo or Critter Nation cages. Includes play/exercise time in a larger floor playpen as appropriate. No ferrets, rats, chinchillas, sugar gliders or venomous snakes. Rabbits must be spayed/neutered. For more information, see the Small Animal Boarding page. We do not offer boarding for cats, venomous animals or snakes more than 5lbs.

• $15 Small Rodents and Reptiles (24 hour stay; one cage space; e.g. hamsters, gerbils, gecko, frog, turtle)

• $20 Guinea Pigs (24 hour stay; one cage space; includes daily out of pen time)

Farm Sitting & Specialized Horse Care

Farm sitting is 1-2 visits per day to your home or farm to provide general care for your hobby farm animals and indoor pets and includes but not limited to horses and all other hoof stock, chickens, small mammals, cats, dogs, birds, reptiles and fish. Core service area is 10 miles. Expanded service area is up to 20 miles. Visits available between the hours of 8am-6pm.  We do not offer overnight stays.

Service Payment and Option Terms

For your convenience, we offer various payment methods, including online payment with any major credit card, as well as cash or check made out to Mountain Pets LLC.

​

A 50% deposit of total estimate invoice balance is required to hold a booking reservation for service periods longer than two weeks, for all small animal boarding reservations, and for all other services between the months of Memorial and Labor days, and around all other major federal holidays including Penn State's spring break. Final payment is due on or before the last day of each service period. 

Invoices will be sent via email for payment by online credit card, check or cash.

Deposits are fully refundable if the booking is canceled 30 days before the service start date. For cancellations made 29 to 8 days before the service start date, deposits will be held as credit for future bookings. However, deposits will be nonrefundable and not held as credit for cancellations within 7 days of the service start date.
