This page offers an overview of smallanimal boarding services, including the types of animals boarded and service rates. If there’s something specific your pet needs that isn’t described here, please contact me and I'd be happy to explore your needs.

Small animals are boarded in our office room on the main floor in our home in a cage/enclosure which you provide. You provide the enclosure, bedding, food and treats and we provide:

  • A safe, quiet and private room in our home

  • Visual wellness exam several times a day

  • Daily enclosure cleaning including water and food dishes

  • Two-three times daily food preparation, feeding, watering, chews and treats

  • Administering supplements and/or medications

  • Daily time outside of their enclosure in a small animal playpen which I provide

Types of Pets Included

We offer boarding services to the following small animals:

  • Rabbits

  • Guinea pigs

  • Gerbils

  • Hamsters

  • Rats and mice

  • Hedgehogs

  • Chinchillas

  • Lizards

  • Other Reptiles (no venomous snakes)

Sorry, we cannot accommodate the care needs of ferrets or cats in our home.

Rates & Payment Terms

Small animal boarding rates are based on the number of enclosures and complexity of care needs. Standard boarding rate includes time out in a playpen once daily (if needed).

 

Boarding services are invoiced at the end of the service period. A 50% deposit of the total invoiced balance is due to hold a boarding reservation in the days and months between Memorial and Labor Day months and on all federal holiday weekends.

Standard small animal boarding rate:

  • $15/night (24 hour period)

  • Includes one standard sized enclosure/cage

Surcharges

  • Federal holidays - +$5

  • Additional care services can be customized as agreed upon

How it Works

  1. Contact me for more information and availability.

  2. I provide you with the service agreement for you to complete/sign/return if you decide to book. The agreement is completed once and updated annually.

  3. Client is invoiced at the end of the service period and payment is due on or before the last day of service. Accepted payment forms are online credit card, checks and cash.

  4. During the months between Memorial and Labor Days and on all federal holiday weekends, client will be invoiced for a 50% deposit of the total balance due to hold an upcoming reservation. Deposit refund policies are described in the service. agreement.

  5. Client transports pet to and from Mountain Pets by appointment on the first and last day of service. 

  6. I send daily updates including pictures and videos.
